Prerequisites & Requirements
- Age Requirement:10 years or older
- Able to swim; 200 m 10 minutes treading water
- Complete a QLD Australia Medical Statement which is our online registration form, if a Dive MEdical is required please download below the form for your doctor 10346E_Diver Medical_Form (1).pdf_
- PADI E-Learning time Commitment approximately 8-15 hours
To secure your place upfront payments are required prior arrival of $450
In the upfront payments includes your Padi e-learning on $254.10 , Theory and Practical assessment, Scuba gear and pool exercises
PADI Open Water Diver Course Process
Step 1
PADI Online Training
Study in your own time online. Then come with us diving in the Whitsundays.
Your theory is done online whenever is convenient for you. Once you’ve paid a deposit, we’ll email you a PADI e-learning access pass so you can get started right away. Once you’ve finished the online study we bring you into the shop to size up for some gear.

Step 3
PADI Pool Training
When you’re fitted with your scuba equipment you can begin your pool training. Your instructor will put into practice the techniques you learned in the academics program. Your training dives will be logged and approved by your PADI instructor before you move on to open water.

Congratulations You are certified
Junior Open Water Divers age, 10-12 maximum depth is 12 meters.
As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your PADI instructor you will be a certified diver. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide so your diving experiences will be limitless.
What to Bring and Wear
Dive medical is completed by a dive doctor if needed.
Certificate of Completion of the e-learning theory training
Swimwear, sunscreen, towel, mask, snorkel, dive boots and fins if you have your own
Equipment
In the Airlie Beach PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.
