Comprehensive PADI Open Water Course Details

  • Flexible Schedule: Courses start weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Times may vary depending on tides and weather.
  • Course Duration: Ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 days, depending on tides and weather conditions.
  • Cost: AUD $850 for small groups (max 5 people). Upfront payment of $450 includes PADI e-learning, theory and practical assessment, scuba gear, and pool exercises.

Prerequisites & Requirements:

  • Age Requirement: 10 years or older.
  • Swimming Ability: Swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes.
  • PADI E-Learning: Approximately 8-15 hours commitment.

Itinerary

PADI Open Water Diver Course Process

Step 1

PADI Online Training

Once you booked online, you will be e-mailed a code of PADI  to tudy in your own time online. Then come with us diving in the Whitsundays.

Your theory is done online whenever is convenient for you. Once you’ve paid a deposit, we’ll email you a PADI e-learning access pass so you can get started right away. Once you’ve finished the online study.

Step 2

Bring your swimmers and a towel

Arrive on the day start. please check your schedule link for the arrival time

 Swim assessment, paper-based quick review assessment, QLD medical enrolment, dive equipment preparation set up, and fittings

Step 3

PADI Pool Training

When you’re fitted with your scuba equipment you can begin your pool training. Your instructor will put into practice the techniques you learned in the academic program. Your training dives will be logged and approved by your PADI instructor before you move on to open water.

Congratulations You are certified

Junior Open Water Divers age, 10-12 maximum depth is 12 meters.

As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your PADI instructor you will be a certified diver. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide so your diving experiences will be limitless.

What to Bring and Wear

Dive medical is completed by a dive doctor if needed.

Certificate of Completion of the e-learning theory training

Swimwear, sunscreen, towel, mask, snorkel, dive boots and fins if you have your own

Equipment

In the Airlie Beach PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.

*Terms and conditions: Minimum of 24 hours notice required for reschedules and 48 hours for cancellations. No refunds for late cancellations or ‘no-shows’.

Dive Locations

The boat Dive Location varies on the wind and tides, safety measurements will be determent on the day by the boat captain!

Dive Intructor is making safety evaluations of dive length, visibility and current. Due to rapite weather changes, risk assessment of weather conditions gets done on the day prior.
